Curfew imposed in Mount Salem ZOSO
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A curfew has been imposed in a section of the Mount Salem community from 6:00 pm Friday, September 22, and will remain in effect until 6:00 pm Sunday, September 24, the Zones of Special Operation Communication Centre announced Friday.
The boundaries of the curfew are as follows:
North along Mount Salem main road between Campbell Lane and Clarke Street; south along Willow Way and Mount Salem Gully; east along Clarke Street; and west along Campbell Lane and Mount Salem Gully.
During the hours of the curfew people within the boundaries are required to remain within their premises unless otherwise authorized in writing by the joint commanders within the zone. The joint commanders are Major Godfrey Sterling and Superintendent Kirk Ricketts, the Communication Centre said.
Mount Salem and its environs was declared the first zone of special operations under the Law Reform (Zones of Special Operations) (Special Security and Community Development Measures) Act by the prime minister on September 1.
