More hurricane-affected J’cans to return home on Sunday
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Ministry of Labour and Social security says over 50 Jamaicans from hurricane ravished islands who still wish to return home will get the opportunity to do so on Sunday.
In a release today, the ministry said that three flights will take relief supplies to affected islands on Sunday and Jamaicans would be able to return on those flights.
The ministry said through combined efforts with the Local Government and Foreign Affairs & Foreign Trade ministries, approximately 100 Jamaicans have been brought home from the hurricane hit islands to date.
Relief supplies consisting of, but not limited to tinned meats, water, baby food, diapers, tarpaulins, stoves, mattresses, batteries, cleaning and disinfectant supplies will be airlifted on Sunday, the ministry stated.
