Manchester High and Seaforth High both won their sixth straight game in the ISSA/FLOW daCosta Cup schoolboy football competition yesterday as six schools maintained perfect starts.

Former champions Dinthill Technical, Glenmuir High and Clarendon College, as well as St Mary Technical also maintained their good starts. But Spot Valley High and Central High lost their 100 per cent records after being held to draws.

Over 100 goals were scored in yesterday’s round of games with Ben Francis KO champions Lennon High spanking Claude McKay High 13-0. The losers have now conceded 36 goals in four games and are yet to score their first.

Manchester High all but sewed up their place in the second round as Ajay Chin’s goal took them to a 1-0 win over second-placed Mile Gully in a Zone F return-round game. Manchester have opened up an eight-point lead at the top of the table.

Damani Hutchinson scored twice for Seaforth High as they beat Yallahs High 4-1 in Zone O to extend their best ever start to a season to six games.

Andre Fletcher scored his second successive brace to lead Dinthill Technical to a 3-0 victory over McGrath High in Zone K. Shamari Davis got the other goal.

Clarendon College stretched their record to four straight wins, while ending Edwin Allen High’s two-game win streak with the former coming out 2-1 victors in their Zone H top-of-the-table clash in Frankfield.

Ricardo McIntosh and Nique Daley were the scorers for Clarendon College who were conceding their first goal of the season.

Dejaun Webber’s double strike gave St Mary Technical a 2-1 victory over rivals St Mary High in Zone J as they improved to 12 points.

Glenmuir High stayed perfect with a 4-1 win over Bellefield High as Dave Francis led the way with two goals.

In Zone C, after taking the lead, Spot Valley High had to rely on yet another last-minute goal to settle for a 2-2 draw.

Rogewayne Thompson gave Spot Valley High the lead but Cedric Titus hit back with goals from Kyle Marshall and Orlando Grey before Jaleel Parkinson scored late to ensure the teams shared the points.

Herbert Morrison snapped their four-game winless start with a big 7-2 win over William Knibb Memorial as Matthew Thorpe led the way with a hat- trick. Richard Thompson and Matthew Dowe both scored two goals each.

Central High were held 0-0 by Garvey Maceo in their Zone N game as Central’s four-game run ended.

Defending champions Cornwall College rebounded from Wednesday’s shock loss to Maldon High to edge Anchovy High 1-0 at Anchovy.

Aiden Jokombo came off the bench to net the winner and spared the champions some blushes after they squandered numerous scoring chances.

St James High extended their lead on goal difference in Zone A with a 5-1 win over Green Pond as Tyreque Clarke scored twice. Maldon High continued their hot run, winning a third-straight game for the first time ever, edging Irwin High 2-1 at home.

Oneeko Miller scored five times to lead Munro College to their first home win of the season, spanking BB Coke 7-1.

BB Coke ended the game with nine players after two were sent off for protesting a penalty awarded to Munro.

Rusea’s High beat Frome Technical 2-0 in Zone B to move to 13 points, while Green Island leapt over Frome into second place with a 1-0 win over Hopewell High.

Lennon High went on a goal spree as Quesi Watts and Kyrese Harrison both scored hat-tricks, and Dino Bryan got two goals as the Knockout champions got their first win of the season.
