Ministry of Health’s ‘Jamaica moves’ health fair heads to Manchester
MANCHESTER, Jamaica — The Ministry of Health and Southern Regional Health Authority’s (SRHA) health campaign, “Jamaica Moves”, will be heading to Manchester this Thursday.
According to the SRHA, Minister of Health, Dr Christopher Tufton will be in attendance at the Jamaica Moves Road Tour, which aims to encourage Jamaicans to practice a healthy lifestyle.
The campaign will be held at the Mandeville Greens, (across from the police station) on Park Crescent in the capital town.
The health officials say the tour will feature a run/walk at 5:00 am to 7:00 am; a health screening at 9:00 am to 7:00 pm; with the keynote address by Dr Tufton at 4:00 pm.
“The campaign is also one aspect of a larger initiative to promote healthy lifestyle habits among Jamaicans in order to reduce non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, heart conditions, cancers, and chronic kidney disease,” the SRHA said.
