Flash flood watch remains in effect for all parishes
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Meteorological (Met) Service has extended a flash flood watch for low-lying and flood-prone areas of all parishes until 5:00 pm tomorrow.
The Met Service says a tropical wave across Jamaica and a trough across the central Caribbean continue to produce unstable weather conditions across the region, including Jamaica.
Projections are for showers and thunderstorms, which could be heavy at times, to continue to affect sections of most parishes.
Flash flooding is therefore a possibility over some low-lying and flood-prone areas of these parishes.
A flash flood watch means that flash flooding is possible and residents are advised to take precautionary measures, keep informed through further releases from the Met Service, and be ready for quick action if flooding is observed or a flash flood warning is issued.
