By-election 2017: St Andrew South Western voters welcome electronic system
ST ANDREW, Jamaica — Electors casting their votes in the by-election in St Andrew South Western have been embracing the electronic voter identification system (EVIS) which is being implemented by the Electoral Office of Jamaica.
Supervisor in charge of polling stations at the Pretoria Road United Church off Maxfield Avenue in St Andrew South Western, Colleen Reid Grant told the OBSERVER ONLINE a short while ago that “They’ve been using it, they are not suspicious or anything.
Persons are still coming with their ID cards, but that’s ok, that’s what they are used to”.
She said that voting has been “steady” and without incident.
