Herbert Morrison continue on merry way in basketball
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Herbert Morrison Technical High School continued on their merry way in the ISSA/Western Conference basketball competition on Tuesday, beating Rhodes Hall and Green Pond in a double-header at the school grounds as both teams won for the third-straight time and stayed on top of the points tables.
The Under-16 team just held off Rhodes Hall 33-28, while the Under-19 team had yet another big win, beating Green Pond by 60 points, 91-31.
In the junior game, Anthony Sharpe had a game-high 14 points and nine rebounds as they led 6-4, 18-9 and 27-18 after the first three quarters and held off Rhodes Hall who rallied in the fourth quarter, which they won 10-6.
It was one-way traffic in the senior game, however, as Brendon Dawkins scored a season-high 32 points to lead Herbert Morrison, who led 24-8, 44-15 and 72-20 after the first three quarters.
David Gordon was held under 30 points for the first time this season, scoring just 19 points along with nine rebounds and five blocked shots, while Alex Gilchrist also scored 17 points with Darrion Dawkins scored 18 of Green Pond’s 31 points.
