Woman found with firearm in purse, two people in custody
CLARENDON, Jamaica — A team of officers assigned to the Clarendon Police Division seized a firearm and 11 rounds of ammunition on the Free Town main road, Longville Park in the parish yesterday.
Two people including a female were arrested and charged in relation to the incident.
Charged are 22-year-old Marlon McCarthy, barber of Busy Park, Clarendon and 25-year-old Danielle Matthews, clerk of New Jersey, USA and New Market Oval, Savannah-la-Mar, Westmoreland.
Reports from the Longville Park police are that lawmen were in the area about 10:00 pm when they signalled the driver of a motorcar to stop.
They occupants of the motor vehicle were search and a .40 Smith & Wesson pistol with a magazine containing 11 rounds of ammunition found in the purse of the female.
