It’s all smiles from representatives of the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean (UCC) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) after announcing concessions for UCC accountancy students to attaining their ACCA professional qualification. From left are UCC faculty members Rupert Mendez, Sonia Davidson and Dr Claudette Coote-Thompson; and ACCA Caribbean representatives Maria Sookdeo and Paula Marcelle-Irish.
The concession allows final year students of the BSc Business Administration accounting major programme to register with ACCA, even before they graduate, at significantly reduced fees — saving as much as 75,000. The special offer ends in March 2018. In addition, UCC accountancy students, upon graduation, will be eligible for five exemptions from the ACCA programme — leaving a total of eight papers to complete the ACCA professional qualification.
