Police seize firearm in Trench Town
ST ANDREW, Jamaica — A man was arrested and charged yesterday in connection with the seizure of a firearm and several rounds of ammunition in Mexico Scheme, Trench Town in St Andrew.
Charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition is 39-year-old Franklyn Sutherland, a tiler from the above-mentioned address. He is to appear before the Corporate Area Gun Court today.
Reports from the Denham Town police are that about 1:00 pm, a team of police officers was on patrol in the area when a man was seen acting in a manner that aroused their suspicion. He was accosted and searched and the firearm—one .38 Revolver — along with four .38 rounds of ammunition were found.
