Quarterly prizes to increase in Capital/Observer Tipsters’ competition
A ccording to organisers, come next year the quarterly prizes will be increased in the Capital Betting and Wagering Limited/Jamaica Observer Tipsters’ Competition.
The competition which runs from January to December each year has four quarters (three months each) with the winner in the Most Wins category and Monetary category getting $10,000 for their efforts. With the increase, winners will now pocket $20,000, doubling the amount. All other incentives will remain the same.
The overall champion in both categories remains at $50,000 each; the Paradus stays at $2,000 and the betting money at the start of the competiton will reamin at $20,000 of which tipsters can bet a mininum of $250 per race day and a maximum not exceeding half of their available cash.
Meanwhile, at the end of the competiton, two tipsters, based on the lowest number of winners and money accumulated over the period will be eliminated from the competition.
