Highlights of the UNWTO Global Conference in Jamaica
Jamaica hosted the inaugural United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Global Conference on Jobs and Inclusive Growth last week at the Montego Bay Convention Centre.
The three-day conference, which opened on November 27, attracted approximately 1,500 participants and more then 150 speakers, the Ministry of Tourism has reported.
An official event of the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development, the conference was aimed at setting a new collaborative framework for tourism moving towards the 2030 agenda for sustainable development.
Ii was organised by the Government of Jamaica, the UNWTO, World Bank Group, and the Inter-American Development Bank.
