Laughter, fun MoBay today
Spurred by what he felt was the need for Montego Bay residents to relax and to take their minds off the crime situation, comedian Christopher “Johnny” Daley will stage the inaugural ‘Comedy on the Rocks’.
Comedy on the Rocks is scheduled for this Sunday, December 17, at Pier One.
“We wanted to bring a big comedy show to Montego Bay. They’ve been very supportive to smaller events that I’ve performed at in the west, but they’ve never had that really big, massive annual show,” Daley told Jamaica Observer.
“With all the crime that’s taking place, the people of Montego Bay need something to let their hair down and take their minds off the crime situation for a minute,” Daley continued.
Among the acts scheduled to perform at Comedy on the Rocks are Lemon, Gunter (the 2007 Comedy Buss Winner), Trinidadian comedian Marc Trinidad, Leighton Smith, Pretty Boy Floyd, Daley and Dufton Shepherd.
The event will be hosted by Elva and broadcaster Ron Muschette.
Daley hopes to make this into an annual event.
“I’ve been getting a lot of interest from overseas comedians who want a reason to come to Jamaica during the Christmas. So, we are looking at making it something annual,” Daley added.
