SAVANNA-LA-MAR, Westmoreland — The Westmoreland police are celebrating the capture of the alleged shooter who was caught on a widely circulated video pumping bullets into supermarket worker Ochille Hall at his workplace on August 15 this year.

The alleged killer, 22-year-old Davion Brown, alias Baltie, of a Grange Hill, Westmoreland, address, was nabbed by members of the Westmoreland police during an operation in the wanted man’s community Friday afternoon.

The police say a 9mm pistol which Brown allegedly had in his possession when he was held was taken from him.

According to head of the Westmoreland Police Division, Superintendent Lanford Salmon, Brown was also fingered in another brazen murder in the commercial hub of Savanna-la-Mar last month.

Superintendent Salmon noted that Brown will be interviewed by the police in the presence of his lawyer in connection with the murders.

“Brown was wanted for that murder in the supermarket which sparked public outrage, and he was also allegedly involved in another murder in the town centre last month,” he disclosed.

Brown appeared on the police radar about four months ago following Hall’s killing.

Hall, who was of a Savanna-la-Mar address, was on bail on a joint murder charge at the time of his death. He was shot and killed at the supermarket in full view of shoppers and staff.

A video of the deadly shooting went viral, showing the triggerman pumping several shots into Hall, who fell to the floor after he was initially shot.

Investigators theorised that Hall’s murder was an act of reprisal.

Hall’s co-accused Aaron Wedderburn was shot and killed at the entrance of the Savanna-la-Mar Public General Hospital on Thursday, July 27.
