Broken sewage main contaminating Barnes Gully, warns NEPA
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA) is advising that there is a broken sewage main releasing effluent through the Barnes Gully in the vicinity of St Georges College, North Street in Kingston.
The agency, in an advisory a short while ago, asked people to refrain from using the gully as a thoroughfare or harvesting solids that may seem useful to them.
NEPA said it is in dialogue with the National Water Commission (NWC) to have the problem addressed in the shortest possible time.
