Dunn rejects misleading streetlight story
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Member of Parliament (MP) for South East St Mary Dr Norman Dunn is rejecting recent news reports that he admitted to installing illegal streetlights in South East St Mary.
Dunn, in a press release last night declared that at no point did he admit to installing illegal streetlights and expressed his disappointment at the misrepresentation of the facts by the RJR report.
“What was communicated was that during the election campaigns several persons were being robbed and women and children became fearful, particularly with the increased activity and outsiders within the community. This was voiced by the residents and I sought assistance. This was done through the relevant constituted authority,” Dunn stated.
The Annotto Bay-born MP argued that despite the media house correcting the headline and story, they have not retracted the statements made earlier which claimed that he illegally installed streetlights.
“The RJR Online story misrepresented my statements and I reject the report that any such admission was made. I am a law abiding citizen of Jamaica,” Dunn maintained.
“I want to thank the Jamaica Public Service for coming in and placing permanent LED lights. This will bring a greater sense of safety and peace of mind to the residents,” the MP stated.
