CC face KC in football friendly in Clarendon
CLARENDON PARK, Clarendon — FLOW Super Cup champions Kingston College and Ben Francis Knockout winners Clarendon College will meet at 3:00 pm today at Juicy Beef Field in Clarendon Park, Clarendon, in a friendly game.
Richard Palmer, manager for the Clarendon College team and part of the organisers, told the Jamaica Observer on Thursday that they were looking for an entertaining game between two teams that excited fans during the just-ended ISSA schoolboy football season.
“This is the game everyone wanted to see, the two most-attacking teams that score a lot of goals, and we hope to put on a good show,” he said.
Clarendon College and Kingston College were preseason favourites to lift their respective titles, the daCosta Cup and Manning Cup, but fell short.
Clarendon College were beaten in the final of the daCosta Cup by Rusea’s High, while Kingston College fell at the semi-finals of the Manning Cup to eventual beaten finalists St Andrew Technical High School, and in the final of the Walker Cup to Jamaica College.
daCosta Cup golden boot winner Nicque Daley, who scored in every game his team played across all competitions from the end of the first round of the daCosta Cup, will lead the Clarendon College team that should also include Ricardo McIntosh, Lamar Walker and Shandi James.
Rashawn Mackison and Shamar Bloomfield are expected to spearhead the Kingston College team.
