Manchester Custos healing well — deputy

MANCHESTER, Jamaica — President of the Manchester branch of the Lay Magistrates Association of Jamaica Stanley Skeene confirmed today that Custos of the parish Sally Porteous is healing well.

“The Custos is healing quite well,” he told OBSERVER ONLINE.

Earlier this month, Porteous was airlifted to the United States for surgery at the Baptist Hospital in Miami, Florida.

She reportedly did the surgery for two aneurysms in her brain and was under close watch in intensive care following the procedure.

Skeene, who is deputising as Custos for the parish, said that as far as he knew Porteous was still in hospital in Miami.

Organisers of a GoFundMe account to assist her said that the critical operation could not be done in Jamaica.

Porteous was attending a meeting in Mandeville when she became ill.
