Two men, woman charged with possession of firearm
KINGSTON, Jamaica —The Denham police are reporting this morning’s seizure of a Browning 9mm pistol & 12 rounds of ammunition on a Toyota Coaster bus on Slipe Road, Kingston 5.
Two men and a woman were arrested and charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition in relation to the incident.
They are 50-year-old Claudius Johnson, 24-year-old Junior Barrett and 24-year-old Tamara Campbell, all of Kingston addresses.
Reports are that about 2:45 am, officers were on patrol on Slipe Road, Kingston 5 when they signalled Johnson, who was driving a Toyota Coaster bus with Barrett and Campbell aboard, to stop. He complied and the bus and the occupants were searched.
During the search, a Browning 9mm pistol was found in the possession of Campbell, loaded with twelve 9mm rounds.
All three were taken into custody and charges were laid.
Investigations continue.
