Hurricanes 147-7 vs Scorpions at lunch

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Leeward Islands Hurricanes progressed to 147-7 at lunch on Friday in reply to Jamaica Scorpions’ first-innings score of 197 in the ninth-round regional four-day game at Sabina Park.

Scores: Scorpions 197 (59.1 ovs); Hurricanes 147-7 (65 ovs).

Former West Indies Under-19 player Keacy Carty, not out on 62, and Mervin Mathew, on 10, are the batsmen set to resume after the interval.

The Scorpions’ leg break bowler Damion Jacobs has taken 5-66 so far.

The Hurricanes had started Friday’s second day on 60-4.

Scorpions — Nikita Miller (captain), John Campbell, Assad Fudadin, Jermaine Blackwood, Brandon King, Paul Palmer, Fabian Allen, Chadwick Walton, Derval Green, Damion Jacobs, Marquino Mindley.

Hurricanes — Kieran Powell (captain), Devon Thomas, Montcin Hodge, Jahmar Hamilton, Akeem Saunders, Sheeno Berridge, Jeremiah Loius, Chaim Holder, Keacy Carty, Shane Burton, Mervin Mathew.
