Police seeking driver of deadly hit-and-run crash

THE police are seeking the driver of a motor car that collided with a pedal cyclist, who died of injuries he sustained on Municipal Boulevard in Portmore, St Catherine on Thursday.

Dead is 48-year-old Leroy Campbell, a mason of Central Village, St Catherine.

Police said Campbell, about 8:00 pm, was riding his bicycle when he was hit by a motor vehicle but the driver did not stop.

The police were summoned and Campbell was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No details on the car involved was ascertained.

Anyone with information that can assist the police with their investigation is being asked to contact the Portmore police at 949-8422, police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station.
