Tommy Lee debuts in Billboard Top Ten
New Creator , the debut album from Tommy Lee Sparta, enters the Billboard Reggae Album chart this week at number nine. The nine-song set was released on January 5 by Ricardo Gowe Records and sold 63 copies in its opening week.
Tommy Lee Sparta is the sole dancehall artiste in the Billboard Reggae Album chart’s Top 50. New Creator features songs like H appy Life, Slow Down, Bad Gyal Duppy, and We Are Heroes.
Christopher Martin returns to the chart at number 22 with his debut album Big Deal, which peaked at number three nine months ago. Big Deal sold 22 copies last week to bring its total figures to 1,370 copies.
American band The Green is number one with Marching Orders, which sold 400 copies last week for a haul of 5,378 copies.
The compilation Tropical House Cruises to Jamaica sold 240 copies in its first week and enters the chart at number two. It has songs from Ed Sheeran, Mojo of Morgan Heritage, Rollie Fresh, Sizzla, Wyclef Jean, Damian and Stephen Marley, Sean Paul, and Sean Kingston.
Nigerian artiste Henricci moves up from number five to three with the EP Sister Caro. It sold an additional 165 copies to bring its three-week tally to 452 copies.
Last week’s chart-topper, Damian Marley’s Stony Hill, falls to number four despite selling another 148 copies, while Havana Meets Kingston by Mista Savona rises from 12 to five with 108 copies sold.
Poetry in Motion by SOJA drops from number two to number six, while Roots Party by Tribal Seeds slips from three to seven.
Chronology by Chronixx remains steady, though down from number six to eight with another 84 copies sold. His first album has sold 6,257 copies to date.
Nothing More to Say by The Frightnrs completes the chart’s Top 10.
