Transport Authority 2018 licensing period starts February 12
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Transport Authority will begin acceptance of applications for all categories of Public Passenger Vehicle (PPV) and commercial carrier licences on February 12, at the start of its new licensing period.
The Authority said that this is in order to facilitate the timely submission of road licence applications ahead of the March 31 expiration date for the licences.
In preparation for the February 12 start of the licensing period the Authority said it commenced early motor vehicle examination for public passenger vehicles on January 23 this year.
The Authority is therefore urging all owners and operators of public passenger vehicles and commercial carriers to renew their road licences early and avoid late fee charges and prosecution come April 1.
