SSL appoints new CEO
Lamar Harris, an attorney and general manger of Stocks and Securities Ltd (SSL) for the past six years, was yesterday promoted to the role of CEO for the brokerage, taking over from Mark Croskery.
Harris, who has more than 20 years of financial sector experience, will now oversee day-to-day operations at SSL.
Croskery, who took over the CEO position from his father Hugh 10 years ago, now serves as executive director, focussing on growth strategies and capital markets.
The corporate restructuring allows Croskery to “focus his passionate drive and initiative towards the development of new products and services in Jamaica and beyond”, a release from the company stated.
The restructuring would allow SSL to “take more nimble advantage of the invesment opportunities which are becoming more apparent in today’s vibrant financial sector and to better provide investment opportunites to all levels of the Jamaican public,” the release added.
Catherine Goodall ends her three-year tenure as marketing manager for beverages at LASCO Distributurs today, to take up a role as project development manager at charitable organisation Food for the Poor.
Goodall was instrumental in securing the Jamaica Manufacturers’ Association 20a5 Breakthrough Product of the Year for LASCO’s iCool Water, following its record-breaking success. She then worked on the successful launch of several LASCO innovations, including isotonic drink iDrade, soft drink Lynx, energy drink Konka and meal supplement Nutrify, in a highly competitive landscape.
Prior to LASCO Goodall’s carer also centred on beverages, having worked as regional brand manager for Continental Beverage Comapny and marketing manager at PepsiCo Jamaica. A graduate of Florida International University, Goodhall has also worked in the United States, including a role in public relations and marketing for Jamaican clothing brand Cooyah.
