Woman dies, man injured in fire
THE Maggotty police in St Elizabeth have commenced a probe into the circumstances surrounding the death of 39-year-old Marsha Lennon and the injury of a man in a fire that destroyed a dwelling at Accompong Town in the parish yesterday.
Police said about 6:35 am residents saw the house on fire and summoned the police and the fire brigade. A team from the Santa Cruz Fire Brigade responded. While conducting cooling-down operations firefighters discovered charred remains believed to be those of Lennon’s. A man who was also in the building received burns all over his body and was admitted to hospital in serious condition.
