Will She’s A Maneater start?
Reigning Horse of the Year, She’s A Maneater is yet to enter the starting gates in 2018 and run in a competitive event.
The glory horse of 2017 after winning the Triple Crown, Superstakes and Diamond Mile, She’s A Maneater was provisionally entered for the Chairman’s Trophy two weeks ago, but her trainer Wayne DaCosta opted not to start the filly. That race was eventually abandoned.
Now She’s A Maneater is listed among nine horses who have been provisionally entered for the Lady Geeta Trophy to be run over six furlongs (1,200m) on Easter Monday, April 2, 2018.
While six furlongs is certainly not her best journey option and with very few races available at the top level, DaCosta might be left with no other choice at this time but to start his filly in order to just give her a run and really get her ready for her four-year-old campaign.
The same might be said for the Horse of the Year runner-up Bigdaddykool and his trainer Anthony Nunes. Bigdaddykool is known for his fondness of the longer distances, making the six furlongs of the Lady Geeta not to his fancy. But Nunes will have to weigh his options as Bigdaddykool, like She’s A Maneater, has not raced in 2018.
While a lot of interest surrounds these two big names, there is another enticing prospect on the horizon, that of sprint champion Chace The Great against the new rising star Money Magnet.
The entries for the Lady Geeta are listed below.
