Xaymaca Pop-Up Lyme well received
Patrons attending Xaymaca Pop-Up Lyme were treated to well-received soca mixes on the roof top of the Emancipation Park Car Park in New Kingston recently.
The event saw the likes of ZJ Nova, DJ Franco, DJ Lantern and DJ Richie Ras pulling from their vast catalogue of music to keep guests entertained.
It was obvious that persons knew the songs from the recently held Trinidad carnival season, as they sang the lyrics word for word. Songs from previous carnival seasons were also thrown in for good measure.
Ian Bourne, a director of Xaymaca International, spoke about the objectives of the soca party.
“The main objective is to constantly give our masqueraders the new music and to also showcase our costumes. For our sponsors, we wanted patrons to enjoy their new cocktails and to also build up the vibes for the upcoming road march,” said Bourne. “Overall, tonight has been really good. We constantly move to new venues which the patrons like; it’s like a breath of fresh air and keeping the carnival vibes alive. It’s a moment for people to have a good time.”
The Smirnoff Icy Waistline cocktail has been a hit at soca events this season and brand manager for Spirits at Red Stripe Jason Hendricks is pleased.
‘The response to our cocktails has been overwhelming. One of our signature cocktails, the Icy Waistline, has been in great demand. Patrons are just having a really good experience, as only Smirnoff can bring,” said Hendricks.
