Bogue look to consolidate semi-final advantage
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Bogue FC will take a 1-0 lead into this afternoon’s return-leg semi-finals of the St James Football Association Sandals/ATL Division One, when they take on Cambridge FC at the UDC Field starting at 3:30 pm.
Bogue FC surprised title-favourites Cambridge FC 1-0 in the first leg at the same venue last week, and need only a draw today to secure their place in the final set for April 28.
Christopher Johnson scored the only goal in the first game, when he was picked out on the right flank by a pass from Nicholas Brown and dribbled past three defenders before powering the ball past goalkeeper Chad Trough in the 53rd minute.
Cambridge FC must take the game to Bogue FC as they need to win by a two-goal margin if they hope to advance. Cambridge however, will be without Obrien Bent, who was sent off in the first half last week after being shown the yellow card twice.
Today’s winner will also secure promotion to the Senior League next season.
The other semi-final between Violet Kickers and Club Ville is locked at 0-0 after their first leg on Thursday.
