Holland High seek final spot in ISSA West Conference Girls’ basketball
HOLLAND, Trelawny — Holland High could secure their place in next week’s final of the ISSA Western Conference Girls’ b asketball Open with a win over Montego Bay High School when they meet in the second game of a double- header at Holland High in Trelawny today. Muschett High and William Knibb are set to meet in the first game.
Fresh from their big 57-4 win over former champions Muschett High at Cornwall College on Tuesday, the unbeaten Holland High are on 12 points, two behind leaders and defending champions Mt Alvernia High, with a return-round game to come against Muschett High on Monday.
Also, on Tuesday, Mt Alvernia beat Montego Bay High 36-16, effectively ending Montego Bay’s High’s path to the final, while Holland High restricted Muschett to a scant four points as three players scored in double digits to secure the lop-sided victory.
Tatinna Fagan led Holland High with 13 points and had six steals and four assists, Shanniel Johnson scored 12 points and Zhane Lawrence, 10 points.
Tiana Wilson scored 11 points to lead Mt Alvernia in their win over neighbours Montego Bay High leading 10-4, 26-8 and 32-10 at the breaks.
Sashana Gray also scored eight points for Mt Alvernia High as Shelly-Ann Gayle scored eight points for Montego Bay High.
