Campari to begin defence of domino title
Campari will start the defence of their Division One title when they host Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) in the first round of the 2018 National Association of Domino Bodies (NADB) Kingston & St Andrew Region Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum Business House League today.
Campari, who denied K ingston Wharvesa historic fourth consecutive Division One title last season in an intense 117-107 encounter will host JUTC at their 473 Spanish Town Road address in Zone B action.
It should be smooth sailing for Campari, having defeated their opponents 152-101 in the quarter-finals last season en route to being crowned champions.
In other Zone B games, Division Two champions Ministry of Finance (MOF) welcome National Commerical Bank (NCB) in what should be a close encouter between the two teams.
Based on experience at the top level, NCB is given the edge over the newcomers. The match will be played at 30 National Heroes’ Circle.
Kingston Wharves, in the meantime, will host Urban Development Corporation in the lone Zone A encounter. The men from Kingston Wharves should have no problems defeating the visitors at King Port Building.
The match between hosts Wray & Nephew Limited and Jamaica Observer has been postponed along with the cross-zone match between Petrojam and former champions Seprod.
In Division Two, Stewart’s Auto Parts should get off to a winning start when they welcome debutantes General Accident Insurance at 49 1/2 South Camp Road in Zone A, while the match between Bank of Jamaica (BOJ) and Kris An Charles has been postponed.
Over in Zone B, former four-time Division One champions Gleaner travel to 15 Newport East in Kington to face rookies Jamaica Custom Agency in what should be an easy match for the North Street bunch and the demoted Digicel Jamaica will be hoping their signal stand firm when they take on National Housing Trust at home at 14 Ocean Boulevard.
In the cross-zone match, Port Authority of Jamaica host Sagicor at Water Lane in another close battle.
All matches are scheduled to begin at 6:30 pm.
