NSWMA to carry out compliance operations in Portmore
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) says it will be carrying out enforcement and compliance efforts in sections of Portmore, St Catherine tomorrow due to an increase in the number of businesses in the area.
The waste management authority said the move became necessary due to information garnered from surveillance that some business operators are disposing of their solid waste improperly.
NSWMA said the area to be targeted is Congreve Park in Portmore, St Catherine — between Bayside and Naggo Head or from Ken’s Wildflower to Flow Jamaica.
The NSWMA and MPM Waste Management Limited teams led by Messrs Audley Gordon and Adrian Grant, executive director and regional operators’ manager, respectively will carry out all-day enforcement and compliance efforts starting at 9:30 am.
