Weekly Round-up: Westmoreland bloodbath… Fiery Trelawny crash… Deadly nightclub fire… Windies slump to 9th
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The security forces blanketed sections of Westmoreland on Wednesday and by Thursday, arrested 13 gangsters in the aftermath of a bloody onslaught in which seven people, including two children, were killed and at least 12 were wounded in separate gun attacks.
Meanwhile, the country surpassed 100 road fatalities with Sunday’s death of a woman in a five-vehicle collision on Mandela Highway in the vicinity of Plantation Heights in St Andrew.
And, three exotic dancers died as fire ravaged a nightclub in Trinity, just outside Port Maria, St Mary early Thursday morning.
