There’s lots more space for creative director Janelle Pantry-Coke to host her loyal clientele and indeed attract more! The expansion has been deliberately orchestrated: start small, feel out the market, listen to the customer, track the spend and constantly engage. Pantry-Coke’s decade-long journey started with a 500 sq ft home accessory store in 2017 to 1,500 sq ft in 2012. A furniture and home decor store followed and two years later, a foray into manufacturing heralded the furniture line Gallery Line by Spaces, which segued into interior decorating.

Today, a decade later, the Spaces showroom occupies 2,500 sq ft and features a décor centre and consultation room for interior decorating services. Pantry-Coke shared her plans with SO Sunday last to “elevate the shopping experience for our customers and to, in the expanded 2,500 square-foot showroom, showcase a fresh, contemporary design aesthetic that is not only inviting but provides a canvas in which to inspire shoppers”. The more, according to Pantry-Coke, is the convenient location can be accessed easily from Trafalgar Road or Hope Road with better parking facilities. The collective response in between Pink Apron brunch bites and chilled mimosa was satisfaction with the move and memorable act of altruism to commemorate the company’s 10-year anniversary. Pantry-Coke, who will in a few months assume presidency of the Rotary Club of Trafalgar, New Heights, used a Dutch auction to raise funds for the Adonijah Group of Schools’ efforts to construct a water therapy centre. Aided and abetted by media personality Terri-Karelle Reid, the Dutch auction got off to a lively start with bidders vying for a pair of titanium purple agate earrings set in 14-karat gold courtesy of Peace-Is of Bianca, then hit a frenetic note for the Allison Club Chair, upholstered in a soft, vibrant woven pink fabric and tufted button accents.
