NWC says systems in western parishes affected by rainfall
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The National Water Commission (NWC) says several of its systems in western parishes are out of operation due to extremely high levels of turbidity brought on by heavy rainfall.
The impacted NWC systems include:
St James — The Great River Treatment Plant, the Dantrout Pumping Station, the Endeavour Pumping Station, the Mafoota Pumping Station, the Tangle River Pumping Station, the Vaughnsfield Pumping Station, Terminal and the Norwood Relift.
Trelawny — The Martha Brae Treatment Plant, Sherwood Pumping Station and Barnstaple Deepwell.
Hanover — The Cascade Pumping Station
Westmoreland — The Bulstrode Treatment Plant
St Elizabeth — The Aberdeen Spring, Benlomond Spring, Y/S Spring, the Hannah Spring and the Siloah well
Manchester — The Two Meeting Treatment Plant and Cowick Park Spring
At the same time, NWC said the Nompriel Relift in Westmoreland is out of operation due to power supply problem.
