Water levels rising in Bog Walk Gorge… Sir Florizel Glasspole Boulevard blocked… Port Morant Square flooded
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Police are advising motorists to avoid travelling through the Bog Walk Gorge in St Catherine as water levels continue to rise in the vicinity.
Police also noted that a section of Sir Florizel Glasspole Boulevard, near the Caribbean Cement Company in East Kingston, has been blocked due to landslide.
As such, traffic is being re-routed onto the westbound corridor. Airport bound persons should note that delays are being experienced at the location.
Motorists are being urged to proceed with extreme caution.
Meanwhile, flooding has also been reported in the Port Morant Square (Cotton Tree) in St Thomas.
The police said the area is impassable and advised motorists to use the alternative route through the Land Top community.
The warnings come amidst a flash flood warning issued by the Meteorological (Met) Service of Jamaica for low-lying and flood-prone areas of all parishes as a trough across the island continues to produce unstable weather conditions.
