US President Donald Trump today announced his intention to nominate Donald Ray Tapia of Arizona as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Jamaica, the White House website has reported, describing the post as “a key position” in the administration.
7. 15 men listed as persons of interest in Clarendon
The Clarendon police have listed 15 men as persons of interest in the parish and are asking them to immediately visit the May Pen Police Station.
8. Gov’t spending $28m to erect more drop-in centres for homeless persons
Minister of Local Government and Community Development Desmond McKenzie says the ministry is erecting additional drop-in centres for homeless citizens at a cost of $28 million.
The Bank of Jamaica (BOJ) has announced its decision to lower the policy interest rate (the rate offered on overnight deposits with Bank of Jamaica) by 25 basis points to 2.50 per cent.
10. Two killed in St Mary crash
The police have reported that two persons were killed in a vehicular collision on Iteboreale main road in St Mary last evening.
