Following performances in the United States and The Gambia, Jahmiel continued his overseas surge with a handful of shows in the United Kingdom alongside Tarrus Riley and Cham.

The gigs took place May 4-6 at Victoria Warehouse in Manchester, O2 Academy Brixton in London, and O2 Academy in Birmingham.

“The response on all three shows was great. But there was definitely a greater response on the last two shows in London and Birmingham,” said Jahmiel. “The line-up with myself, Tarrus and Cham was great and the people loved it. They came out in numbers and left entertained.”

Package shows with top Jamaican acts have become popular in the UK in the last five years. With reggae not as popular as the 1990s, promoters in that country have gone for split bills.

In March/April 2015, Yami Bolo shared the stage with Addis Pablo on six shows. That year, in July, Bunny Wailer and Beres Hammond did several shows as part of the Legends of Reggae Tour.

Freddie McGregor, Marcia Griffiths, Junior Reid and I-Octane comprised the Legends of Reggae Tour in May 2016.

It was the latest overseas assignment and second visit to the UK for 25-year-old Jahmiel. Early this year he had dates in the United States and performed in The Gambia in March.

Reaching out to diverse markets, he stated, is critical.

“It’s very important to stay busy abroad and set out strategic plans according to the region, which is really the job my management team has taken on. We want to tackle the world but can’t do it all one time,” Jahmiel explained. “In some markets I have started to release different types of songs as the sound for some markets are definitely different than a core radio market in the US.”

Strongest Soldier and Live Without Limits are the songs he is currently pushing in the UK.
