Fontana to open flagship location in Kingston

Fontana Pharmacy is set to open its sixth branch at the new Waterloo Square on the corner of Waterloo Road and West Kings House Road by summer 2019.

The flagship location, covering 35,000 square feet, is expected to redefine the standard of quality and service set by the pharmacy as it continues to grow its footprint across Jamaica.

Fontana’s largest location to date, the new location is being touted as a cutting-edge expansion of the brand’s existing model to include a state-of-the-art pharmacy, one-stop beauty hub, extensive baby and children’s selection, home décor collection, business centre, photo lab, bill payment, and courier services.

Local brands currently available at Fontana are Ettenio, Herboo, Your True Shade, Kumeas, The Artsy Trail, and Irie Rock.

In a press release, Fontana said the location forms part of its 50th anniversary plans, which not only include the growth of the Fontana brand, but also support for Jamaican brands and communities.

“Fontana is proud to be celebrating 50 years of business in Jamaica. Our investment in Fontana Waterloo Square will help us to further solidify our position as ‘Jamaica’s Pharmacy’ and reinforce our commitment to Jamaica, our customers and our entire team,” director at Fontana Pharmacy, Kevin Chang, said.

The opening of the new location is also expected to provide an additional 80 individuals with employment in areas such as business development, administration and marketing, since the investment in Fontana Waterloo Square is the company’s largest to date.

“For the past 50 years, the Fontana family has prided itself on providing impeccable customer service which always starts with having what the customer wants and needs. This has allowed Fontana to establish itself as a true ‘one stop shop’, providing convenience coupled with the widest possible selection for customers of all ages and stages,” Fontana’s Anne Chang said.

Fontana Pharmacy was first established in Mandeville in November 1968 by Bobby and Angela Chang, and now touts itself as one of Jamaica’s leading pharmacy and department store chain. The company currently has locations in Kingston, Mandeville, Montego Bay, Ocho Rios, and Savannah La Mar.
