Equipment hits out at Mr Landlord
Emerging singjay Equipment outlines the evils of renting in a new single, Mr Landlord.
Produced by UK-based label Control Tower Squad., the single will be released via iTunes and other downloadable platforms later this month.
“The song was inspired by the pressures of life. Everybody ah feel it, even the rich man ah feel the pinch, trust me. I couldn’t find the rent for a month and my landlord was pressuring me like him waan stress me out a way, so mi decide to put pen to paper and express my feelings. Is a song every Jamaican can relate to,” said Equipment.
Mr Landlord is produced by Lance “Boko B” Wallace.
“I did a viral video performing the song which we put it on Facebook. It has got over 500,000 views in four weeks on FB, with a lot of comments. it ah damage the streets from yard to abroad… I believe this song is a big tune,” Equipment said.
Equipment is steadily building a reputation for himself as an artiste to watch.
“I have been getting great feedback, with people texting me and asking me when is the official video, but I am working on the official release and then after that, the video is next,” he said.
Born Keithon Tracey on July 7, 1984. Equipment hails from Cockburn Pen, St Andrew. He intends to make an impact in the dancehall industry.
“With each song, my fan base is getting much larger; people are contacting me from all over the world. The disc jocks and selectors are giving me great support now in the streets, so I am expecting big things in 2018,” he said.
