Reports are that about 11:10 pm lawmen were conducting a spot check when a motor vehicle was signalled to stop. The driver complied and the vehicle was searched. During the search 21 knitted bags of compressed ganja valued at $500,000 were found, the police said.

The motor vehicle was seized and the men arrested and charged.
Charged are 44-year-old Audley Gayle, a farmer and 25-year-old Craig Brown, an auto-mechanic, both of New Savanna district in St Elizabeth.
They have been charged with breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act and are scheduled to appear in the Savanna-la-Mar Parish Court on Tuesday
