Spiritual makes Sierra Nevada music fest debut
Spiritual recently made his debut performance in California. He performed over two days at the 25th staging of Sierra Nevada World Music Festival.
The festival took place on June 22 and 23.
The singer spoke about the experience.
“It was a learning experience for me. It was my first time performing in California. The audience was great and very receptive; some of them even sang along like they knew the songs on the album word for word. So that made me know for sure that the message is getting out there,” said Spiritual.
He shared a highlight of his performance.
“When I came off the stage three children about eight years old came up to me and said in exact words ‘You were awesome.’ It almost brought tears to my eyes to hear children that age giving me that kind of compliment. It shows that reggae music has no boundaries — whether age, title, or race. That was an experience I’ll never forget; it was a very touching,” he said.
Spiritual performed songs from his 2017 album Awakening which was released by VP Records. Some of the songs that the audience sang along to include Time Has Come, Stand Up to Rasta and Give Thanks. Reggae Music and Culture’s Jah Jah See Them a Come were also part of his repertoire.
Spiritual is currently in Europe where he has embarked on a continental tour to promote Awakening. The tour kicked off on July 11 and runs until August 3.
Among the countries that he will perform are: Belgium, France, Sweden, Switzerland, Germany, and The Netherlands.
