Messado slapped with more fraud charges
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Embattled real estate attorney, Jennifer Messado, was slapped with more fraud charges today.
According to a report from the police’s Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) Messado was charged with forgery and obtaining money under false pretence.
Messado is accused of preparing an agreement in June 2017 for the sale of a property on Waterloo Road in St Andrew without the knowledge of the owner.
It is alleged that she forged the signature of the owner and received a 10 per cent deposit for the sale of the property that was reportedly priced at US$1.5 million; however the property was never on sale.
Today’s are the latest in a slew of charges that the lawyer is facing.
The attorney was last re-arrested when she appeared in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on July 3.
During her court appearance, her bail for those matters was extended and she is to return to court on September 11.
