Man arrested after cops find gun on bed in St Mary

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Police have reported that one man has been arrested following the seizure of a HS 2000 9mm pistol with a magazine containing fifteen 9mm cartridges in Dover district, Annotto Bay in St Mary yesterday.

Charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition is 41-year-old Ferrol McCalla of the same community.

Reports from the Area 2 narcotics police are that about 4:00 am, a planned raid was carried out at McCalla’s premises, during which the firearm and ammunition were found on a bed.

McCalla is to appear before the Port Maria Parish Court on Thursday, August 02.
