Sussex Lodge Family Fun Day a success at Sabina Park
Sussex Lodge # 354 brought the Kingston Cricket Club at Sabina Park in Kingston to life with a successful Family Fun Day recently.
Food was a big draw and an all-inclusive ticket entitled patrons to unlimited access to mouth-watering curry goat, jerk and fried chicken, jerk pork, escoveitched fish, rice and peas, pasta, salad, popcorn, patties, several varieties of hamburgers, and delicious Grace chicken soup.
Main sponsors ATL Automotive Group had cars on display for test drives but also did some business with those who came ready to purchase their favourite ride.
The bounce-about, merry-go-round, face-painting and water dunking were responsible for the screams of delight that permeated the event, while football fever brought the whole family together to compete for ATL prizes.
DJ Courtney effortlessly had the crowd grooving all afternoon to a range of popular music from the ’70’s to current favourites. Lucky patrons walked away with the gate prize of an all-inclusive weekend for two at a north coast hotel and other fun prizes.
Proceeds go to Sussex Lodge charities, which notably include Hope Valley Experimental School, National Children’s Home dental programme and SOS Children’s Village. Plans are in the making to stage the event annually, accoding to event spokesman Garfield Rodriguez.
Sussex photographer Dr Wade A Morgan was on hand to capture some of the fun:
