King James awaits his time
US-based dancehall deejay King James believes he is on the verge of a major breakthrough with his latest single Time is the Master .
According to him, the single reflects his philosophy on life and career ambitions.
“Now is the time; I have been trying for years, but time is the master. I am ready now to show the world what I can do and make them a believer ’cause I believe,” he said.
Released two months ago on his Everbless Records label, he believes that the enhanced production values will propel him to success.
“I am getting feedback mainly in New York, but I am starting to see people from all over sending me feedback that I didn’t know was paying attention. I feel good about this new song. The disc jocks are saying it is a big improvement for me; it shows that you have to put in the hours to be great. They are telling me it’s my time now,” King James said.
Two years ago he released his first album, Good and Bad, which focused on party lifestyle and get-money songs. Now that he has matured, he isplanning to do a new seven-track EP which will be released in November.
“I just wanna take my music and label to the highest point possible addressing topics such as love, success and black empowerment. The early feedback has been crazy in Jamaica,” said King James, who migrated from Manchester more than two decades ago.
His other songs include It’s My Life and From Nothing To Something.
