Have Have A Kit Kat Break
… It was a dessert lovers’ paradise last week at the Nestl é Jamaica Head Office and Distribution Centre as Kit Kat and Rolly Polly collaborated on a few delectable confectionery treats for Kit Kat’s 83rd birthday bash.
The atmosphere was set to induce relaxation; the office’s Blue Lagoon Conference Room was transformed into a lounge where all team members prepared for a fun-filled departure from the day’s tasks. There were eighty-three balloons symbolic of the 83 years Kit Kat has been affording ‘breaks’ to the world. Come the actual break time the conference room, furnished with cosy red and white furniture, ambient lighting and Kit Kat branding, provided ample space for Nestlé team members to roam, socialise or just kick back, in keeping with Kit Kat’s brand essence: having fun. No prompting was necessary. Team members were in full participatory mode.
Consumer marketing manager for the brand and team lead for the internal activation Tameka Singh-Kellier highlighted the significance of the ‘break moment’. “We want our internal and external consumers to equate the fun and light moments of a break with the taste and feel of a Kit Kat. Why? At the heart of it we’ve enjoyed four generations of taking breaks and having a Kit Kat bar. We want to take our fans back to that unadulterated love.”
Newcomer to the local confectionery scene Rolly Polly highlighted four new customised flavours of ice cream and milkshakes for Nestlé staff: Kit Kat White Twist, Kit Kat Dark Desire, Kit Kay Milk Berry and Kit Kat Milk Shake. Their creamy, frozen delights included fusions of Kit Kat products including the four-finger white, and the chunky white. The office was brimming with excitement as staff members waited to sample their share of creamy treats. Romaine Reid, warehouse attendant in the distribution centre volunteered feedback while he waited. “The Kit Kat launch was a good initiative taken on by Tameka and her team. It definitely inspired me to take a break and have a Kit Kat. The activities and games were very well done.”
To wrap up the break all guests were gifted with Kit Kat filled bags and slices of Kukup Kreations Kit Kat Break cakes.
