Proven fact: Ruel Reid is a transformational leader!

Proven fact: Ruel Reid is a transformational leader!

Dear Editor,

I have come to the disturbing realisation that there are people in our society who believe in “cloak and dagger” assaults. This seems to be the unfortunate path of those who deem it their duty to attack our beloved Minister of Education, Youth and Information Senator Ruel Reid. Such is the case with the letter sent by petermighty@yahoo.com that was published in the August 8, 2018 edition of the Jamaica Observer.

This minister is, in my view, hard-working and a servant of the people for this blessed island home, Jamaica. Every organisation that he is tasked with leading he does so with great zeal and coupled with his wealth of technical working knowledge and invaluable experience.

Check his track record! The Jamaica Teachers’ Association, Jamaica College, and now the mammoth task of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information. We are fortunate to have him steer this mighty ship.

Clearly, Peter Mighty is not fully seized of the facts, or he would have known that the HEART Trust/NTA and the National Youth Service have not been Minister Reid’s remit for quite a while now. The good work of those entities continues unabated.

With regard to our young students who are high school bound September 2018, 100 per cent of them are headed to a secondary institution with a seven-year programme. That is progress! What apartheid system?! Balderdash!
