To sleeve, or not…that is the question
Dear Editor,
I think the prime minister’s decision to suspend the ‘no sleeveless policy’ for government buildings needs significant tightening up.
A look at the Jamaica Observer‘s own Page 2 feature on Monday, August 13, 2018 tells us exactly why. There is every form of sleeveless blouse on that page. Ranging from dress shirt type to camisole to plunging (nearly breast-baring) types. And therein lies the problem.
To depend on the average Jamaican to determine which one is appropriate for formal business and which is not is asking for trouble.
A blanket prohibition is unfortunate but may become necessary in our population.
