SOS continues sponsorship of Seek exercise book race day
Stationery and Office Supplies Limited (SOS), the new manufacturers of the popular Seek series of exercise books, is stepping forward to host the 11th staging of the Seek Back-to-School race day. This was announced last Tuesday at a press conference held at the SOS headquarters on Beechwood Avenue in Kingston.
The feature event on the day is the Seek Exercise Book Trophy, an Open Allowance event over six-and-a-half furlongs (1,300m) for a purse of $1.5 million, inclusive of $250,000 from SOS. The race meet is scheduled for Saturday, August 25 at Caymanas Park.
As usual, Seek exercise books will be given out to patrons on the day as well as other back-to-school items.
Allan McDaniel, deputy-managing director of warehousing and logistics at SOS, said it was a good opportunity for his company to gallop into the racing industry.
“Well, to be very honest, we were able to come on board because Seek has been doing this for 10 years already and we have decided to continue on with the race day.
“We want to see where it will lead us, whether it is something we find to be the right way for Seek to be continuing with or not. We are definitely going to approach this year with an open mind to see how the race day progresses, see the people’s reactions to our products on the day, and make a decision from there going forward,” McDaniel told The Supreme Racing Guide.
Director of marketing at Supreme Ventures Racing and Entertainment Limited (SVREL)Peter Green welcomed the move by Stationery and Office Supplies Limited.
“It is our pleasure at SVREL to be associated with the Seek brand and for the first time to be associated with Stationery and Office Supplies. The race day is always a popular one with our punters and, for sure, it is one race day they all look forward to,” Green said.
Possible starters for the Seek Exercise Book Trophy are Another Bullet, Poker Star, Armageddon, Sarah Lee, Radical, among others.
