JAPEX takes centre stage
ROSE HALL, St James — The 27th staging of the Jamaica Product Exchange (JAPEX), which ended at the Montego Bay Convention Centre in Rose Hall on Tuesday, welcomed several players in the island’s tourism industry.
The three-day event provided a conducive atmosphere for tourism interests to meet, collaborate and conduct business with wholesalers, tour operators and travel agents.
It also provided an opportunity for partners in Jamaica’s agriculture and manufacturing sectors to network with suppliers and showcase valuable tourism linkages.
Additionally, the event provided a mix of workshops for business and leisure.
The workshops addressed critical topics such as marketing small properties, interior decorating, energy efficiency, and revenue management.
JAPEX is produced by the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association (JHTA) in partnership with the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB).
The Tourism Linkages Network also coordinated the participation of local suppliers of goods and services. This activity was done in partnership with the Jamaica Manufacturers and Exporters Association (JMEA), the Jamaica Business Development Corporation (JBDC), Jamaica Promotions Corporation (Jampro), and the Rural Agricultural Development Authority (RADA).
